Every term we welcome more exciting guests to the school who continue to excite, inspire and motivate our students. Our guest list during the autumn term welcomed back some familiar faces.

Ebony Thomas a former Elmhurst student visited the school in October. Ebony is a Junior Artist with Ballet Black, Cassa Pancho’s professional ballet company that celebrates dancers of Black and Asian descent. Ebony joined the critically-acclaimed company in 2017. During his visit to the school he gave a series of talks to students about his training and his exciting career and performance experience with the professional company.

Ebony was born in London and joined Elmhurst at 11 years old where he had the opportunity to perform with Birmingham Royal Ballet and featured in the Royal Academy of Dance’s syllabus footage. With BRB, during his time as a student, Ebony danced at the Virginia Arts Festival, USA. He has performed a wide variety of repertoire, including David Bintley’s Argonauts, Sir Peter Wright’s Coppélia and the Don Quixote pas de deux by Marius Petipa. With Ballet Black he has danced in ballets by Martin Lawrance, Annabelle Lopez-Ochoa and Arthur Pita, and created roles in The Suit by Cathy Marston.

Charlotte Edmonds is an international choreographer and filmmaker who has created works for many companies around the world, including The Royal Ballet. Renowned for her cutting edge and powerful style, Charlotte is a huge supporter of the school and returned to Birmingham to deliver a workshop for Upper School, Year 12 students.
