Elmhurst Ballet School, in Association with Birmingham Royal Ballet, is a world-renowned centre for the training and education of talented, passionate and committed young ballet dancers. The school was recently judged to be excellent in all areas by ISI and outstanding in all areas by OFSTED, October 2023, and has an international reputation for the quality of its work.

The majority of students board at the school and we offer fully equipped modern boarding houses for years 7 to 13. Lower School boarding is located on the school site and Upper School boarding is just a short walk away.

The school is seeking to recruit a Deputy Houseparent

The successful applicant will work in a boarding house under the direction of a Houseparent and with the support of the pastoral middle leadership team.  They should have proven skills working with young people; experience of a boarding environment would be an advantage though it is not essential and a flexible approach to their work.  Applicants should be highly motivated and keen to become involved in all aspects of the school’s work.  Applications from those offering skills that relate to the vocational dance environment and a holistic educational ethos are most welcome. No dance experience is needed!

This role offers an attractive remuneration package and high-quality furnished accommodation. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets.

Part-time applications will be considered. This role may be suited to someone studying part-time, as the role has free time during the day, with most working hours being early mornings, later afternoons and weekends.  A full-time role would have one weekend off per half term as well as 2 days off in the week.
