We are recruiting an experienced fundraiser to work closely with the Director of Business Development, Principal, Senior Team and the Board of Trustees to lead and manage the growth of Elmhurst’s fundraising programme. 

The Fundraising Manager will devise and implement strategies, contribute to building and managing partnerships, work creatively to maximise philanthropic support to build the school’s bursary programme and margin of excellence. This includes managing the trusts and foundations bid writing programme, managing key stakeholder relationships and importantly, helping to cultivate new ones. 

The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for planning and delivering all fundraising and stewardship initiatives, in line with Elmhurst’s fundraising strategy. 

This is a self-contained hybrid role, working a minimum of 3 days in the office with occasional evening and weekend working.

We are looking for an inspirational and dynamic individual to provide peripatetic singing teaching services to the school on a self-employed basis. The self-employed Singing Teacher will plan, resource, arrange music for and deliver imaginative, interactive and inspiring lessons for individuals that ensure that effective learning takes place and pupils make excellent progress.

The successful provider will be accountable for pupil progress and attainment levels of pupils who receive lessons.

Our ideal provider of peripatetic singing teaching services will:

  • Be a passionate teacher of music and a committed team player;
  • Demonstrate high levels of ambition and optimism for the students and department;
  • Have the resolve to make a positive difference to the lives of pupils;
  • Be committed to Elmhurst Ballet School’s ethos of high expectations and no excuses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an appropriate learning environment and source own teaching materials;
  • Plan and teach lessons in keeping with the ethos and standards of Elmhurst Ballet School;
  • Organise own diary and teaching timetable directly in consultation with the Director of Music;
  • Keep a record of hours taught each month and invoice accordingly.

Essential:

  • Passionate about music and enthusiastic in approach to inspiring learners;
  • Relevant musical experience or qualifications (Grade exams, academic studies, etc.);
  • Reliable and well-organised;
  • Works flexible hours;
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Teaching experience (private or in school);
  • Knowledge/experience of music exam boards.

Rate: £17.50 per half hour of teaching

Hours: Between 8:30 – 18:00 (Depending on hours offered, breaks unpaid). Hours per week dependent on student requirements, to be negotiated with the Director of Music.

Elmhurst Ballet School, in Association with Birmingham Royal Ballet, is a world-renowned centre for the training and education of talented, passionate and committed young ballet dancers. The school was recently judged to be excellent in all areas by ISI and outstanding in all areas by OFSTED, October 2023, and has an international reputation for the quality of its work.

The majority of students board at the school and we offer fully equipped modern boarding houses for years 7 to 13. Lower School boarding is located on the School site and Upper School boarding is just a short walk away.

The school is seeking to recruit a full-time Houseparent to start September 2024.

The Houseparent will lead and manage a Boarding House supported by a Deputy Houseparent, working under the direction of a member of the pastoral middle leadership team.

Applicants should have proven leadership, excellent organisational skills and experience of working in a boarding environment. We are looking for a highly motivated person who is calm and professional and is willing to be involved in all aspects of the school work. Applications from those offering skills that relate to the vocational dance environment and a holistic educational ethos are most welcome. 

This role offers an attractive remuneration package and high-quality furnished accommodation. Unfortunately, due to the nature and size of the accommodation provided, we are unable to accommodate families or pets.
