Funding and Finance Administrator
Part time - 25 hours per week, 52 week contract (not term time only)
To be worked over 4 or 5 days per week in school.
£16,000 (FTE £24,000)
Permanent contract
Elmhurst Ballet School is a highly successful vocational ballet school associated with Birmingham Royal Ballet and is based one mile from the city centre in Edgbaston in a modern purpose-built facility with ample free parking and onsite Bistro cafeteria. Elmhurst caters for up to 200 students aged 11-19, many of whom are boarders. Our philosophy is that talent is classless and we work hard to secure funding so that our world class education and training is accessible to talented young people from all backgrounds.
We are looking for an experienced financial administrator to administer our Government Funding and School Bursary Schemes which support around 80% of our students by providing means-tested grants to their families.
Highly organised and numerate, with an eye for detail and excellent interpersonal skills, you will lead the means-testing process including sending out forms to parents and, checking that these have been filled in correctly with the correct evidence supplied. You will assist the Director of Finance and Operations to calculate student grants and complete the necessary returns to make and finalise claims. You will also provide general accounts administrative support to the wider finance team.
Full training on the grant and bursary processes will be provided, so while experience of working on government grant claims would be desirable, it is not essential.
The successful candidate will be passionate about helping our talented students achieve their potential, regardless of their family background or finances. You will be an excellent communicator and will understand the sensitivity around processing personal financial information.
The successful candidate will work towards fulfilling the school’s commitment to a high quality provision for students and will promote and embody the school’s ethos: the Elmhurst Way.
