Supporting Elmhurst

“Without ballet schools, there would be no ballet companies.”

David Bintley CBE

At Elmhurst Ballet School we believe that elite ballet training and education should be available to talented, passionate and committed young people, regardless of their financial circumstances.

It costs more than £225,000 to train a world-class ballet dancer over eight years at Elmhurst. In a typical year, more than 85% of our students require financial assistance to train with us, of whom around 20% would be eligible for free school meals in mainstream education.

With your help, we can

  • Provide bursaries to students in need, helping to ensure that talent is truly classless;
  • Commission new and challenging choreography, and work with guest artists, to keep our training fresh and relevant;
  • Stage performances to showcase our talented young people and give them live audience experiences.
  • Continue our outreach programme, taking ballet into the community, bringing new and inspiring educational experiences to state sector schools and community groups.
