Denise Whiteman

Denise joined Elmhurst School for Dance in 2004, after an exciting and varied career as a professional dancer and teacher. She trained at the Royal Academy of Dance, and commenced her career in Germany. After returning to the UK, she taught at the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts, Northern Ballet School and the Dance School of Scotland alongside her stage and screen career. She returned to freelance teaching in 2000 and became a vocational graded examiner for the RAD.

Her extensive experience ranges from classical ballet work with London City Ballet and the National Ballet Company, to pantomime and musical theatre including, South Pacific, Chess (West End production tour) and Cameron Mackintosh’s The Phantom of the Opera for which she was also Associate Choreographer, to galas at the Royal Albert Hall and television appearances in Trainer, Casualty, Seekers, French and Saunders and House of Elliot.
