Constant Vigier collaboration with Elmhurst Year 13

Tuesday March 23rd 2021

A positive outcome from training through lockdown is learning to work creatively in many different and exciting ways. The digital output of online learning and dance for film has become a bigger part of Elmhurst’s work as the school continues to find new ways to stay connected with its community and supporters. Year 13 students worked with dancer and choreographer Constant Vigier to create a short dance film whilst training online at home. This helped to keep the students motivated and engaged with the performance element of their training, especially as they dance ever closer to starting their final year at Elmhurst.

Constant was born in Quimper in France and trained at Paris Opera Ballet School before joining Hamburg Ballet. He joined Scottish Ballet in 2013 and was promoted to First Artist in 2014. He has presented his own independent choreographic work at the Cottier Dance Project and Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2015.

You can find out more about Constant on his website www.constantvigier.com and you can watch the film featuring our Year 13 students here.
